Aeroplane’s Strawberry flavoured jelly is a delicious treat for the whole family. This jelly is fun and easy to make – simply ready, set, jelly! Great on its own, served with fresh fruit, ice cream, in a trifle or jelly slice. One packet makes 500g of jelly – 4 serves per packet.
Strawberry Jelly Slice Prep time: 20 minutes No. of serves: 12 Setting time: 4 hours Ingredients 150 g plain sweet biscuits, crushed 100 g butter, melted 1 cup (250 mL) boiling water 2 1/2 tsp gelatine powder 1 x 395 g can sweetened condensed milk 1 x 85 g packet Aeroplane Original Strawberry Flavoured Jelly Crystals
How to make 1. Line a 20 cm square cake pan with baking paper. Combine crushed biscuits and melted butter, stir to combine well. Press biscuit crumb evenly over base. Refrigerate while making filling. 2. In a bowl combine boiling water and gelatine, stirring well until gelatine is completely dissolved, then stir through the condensed milk. Set aside to cool to room temperature. Pour mixture over the biscuit base and refrigerate until set (1-2 hours). 3. In a second bowl, prepare Strawberry Jelly according to packet instructions, using 100 mL less cold water than directed. Allow to cool completely. Gently pour jelly over set filling and refrigerate for 1-2 hours or until jelly is set. Slice to serve.
Ready, Set, Jelly! 1. Ready – Empty contents of Aeroplane Original Strawberry Flavoured Jelly into a bowl and add 1 cup (250 mL) of boiling water. Stir and dissolve well. Add 200 mL of cold water and stir. 2. Set – Refrigerate until firm and wobbly (minimum 4 hours). Makes 500 g of Jelly. 3. Jelly – Serve with your favourite fresh fruit. Do not add fresh pineapple, kiwi fruit or paw paw as jelly will not set.
